Police Investigating Drive-By Robberies in Lindenhurst, West Babylon

Police are investigating two incidents over the weekend in which a man in a vehicle robbed women in Lindenhurst and West Babylon.

Police have not said if they believe the same man is behind the two robberies.

The first robbery occurred at 5:20 a.m. on Saturday on Albany Avenue in West Babylon. Police say a man drove up to a woman and asked for directions. When the woman approached, the man grabbed the woman’s purse, which contained cash, a wallet, and iPhone and a car key, police said.

The second robbery occurred at 11:45 a.m. on S. 7th Street in Lindenhurst. Police say a woman was putting packages in her car when she was approached by a man in a vehicle. The man, possibly in his 30s, drove by the woman, grabbed her purse and fled, police said.

No arrests have been made in either case. No injuries were reported.
