Police Officers Help Deliver Baby In North Amityville

The woman gave birth to her baby on her bathroom floor with help from two officers on Sunday.

NORTH AMITYVILLE, NY - Two Suffolk County Police First Precinct Officers helped deliver a baby in North Amityville on Sunday afternoon.

Officers Michelle Maresca and Steven Ripp responded to a 911 call of a woman giving birth at a Broadway home at 4:35 p.m.

The officers assisted the woman, 26-year-old Sherry Noriega, who gave birth to a girl on her bathroom floor at 4:45 p.m.

The North Amityville Fire Department transported Noriega and her newborn girl to Good Samaritan Hospital Medical Center in West Islip.
