Just Kids, located at the Kellum Street School, is offering limited scholarships for general education children residing within the Lindenhurst School District to attend their half-day preschool program beginning September 2014.
Classes will meet either from 8:30-11 a.m. (morning session) or 12-2:30 p.m. (afternoon session). Parents must provide transportation. Proof of residency must be provided to Just Kids upon acceptance into the program.
Each class will consist of 18 students: nine general education and nine special education. One general education teacher and one special education teacher will co-teach classes, with an aide in each classroom. The program utilizes the Creative Curriculum that emphasizes academic readiness skills and social skills.

Students entering the program in September 2014 must reach the age(s) of 3 or 4 by Dec. 1, 2014. Parents must provide birth certificate and proof of residency, and all students need a physical exam prior to beginning the program. A lottery will be held to select the students to be offered scholarships. If your child is receiving special education services, he/she is not eligible for this scholarship.
Applications are being accepted as of Monday, April 28 and are due by Friday, May 9.
