Rall Students Knows How to 'Bee" Winners
Lindenhurst students take part in annual spelling bee.
On Dec. 5, 21 students from William Rall Elementary School took part in the school level of the annual Scripps National Spelling Bee.
The students, representing grades four and five, qualified to participate in the school-level bee after winning their class bees.
Students took on many complicated words with confidence. After several rounds, only four contestants remained – fourth-grader Raymond Fleury and fifth-graders Darlene Calderon, Jaelyn Gunter and Shanjeda Uddin. Shanjeda emerged as the winner by correctly spelling “neigh.”
