Recognizing Dedication in Lindenhurst
School staff recognized; retiring Assemblyman Sweeney honored.

During the Jan. 7 Board of Education business meeting, 56 members of the Lindenhurst School District instructional and non-instructional staff were recognized for their years of service.
“We want to thank you for your service and recognize you individually because each one of you, in your own way, is responsible for the success of the district,” said Superintendent of Schools Daniel E. Giordano.

The Board also recognized New York State Assemblyman Robert Sweeney for his 26 years of dedication to the district and to the Lindenhurst community.
“Mr. Sweeney has represented our district since 1988 and has always been there for our schools,” Giordano said. “He has worked tirelessly to get us as many resources as he possibly could. He is someone who cares deeply for our community and he will be missed.”

Sweeney was presented with proclamations and accolades from Legislator Kevin McCaffrey as well. New York State Assemblywoman Kimberly John-Pierre will succeed Mr. Sweeney.
