Second Fire Reported At Amityville Restaurant

The fire broke out at the local restaurant on Tuesday night less than 24 hours after a massive blaze was reported at the same location.

AMITYVILLE, NY - A second fire broke out at an Amityville restaurant less than 24 hours after the first one was reported on Tuesday.

The Amityville Fire Department responded to the Bulldog Grille on 292 Merrick Road for the second time at about 9:30 p.m.

The restaurant had already been seriously damaged in a massive blaze reported earlier that same day at about 1:30 a.m.

The second fire was discovered on the roof of the building.

The Copiague, Massapequa and North Amityville Fire Departments all responded to the scene.

The fire was quickly extinguished and firefighters worked to haul and remove tarps and ply wood from the fire earlier.

The blaze was put out in under an hour and a half. It appears no injuries were reported.

The scene was turned over to the Town of Babylon and Village Fire Marshals office for investigation.

It is still unknown if the fires were deemed suspicious.
