UPDATE: 76-Year-Old Man Killed in N. Lindenhurst Crash
The man was driving through an intersection when his car was struck by a pickup truck, police say.
NORTH LINDENHURST, NY – A 76-year-old man was killed in a two-vehicle crash in North Lindenhurst Tuesday afternoon, police said.
According to police, Glenwood Blalock, of Amityville was driving a 1997 Chevrolet Cavalier west on Albany Avenue when he stopped at a stop sign at about 12:20 p.m. As he was driving through the intersection of New Highway, his car was struck on the driver’s side by a 2005 Dodge Ram pickup truck that was traveling northbound on New Highway.
Blalock was transported by the North Lindenhurst Fire Department to Good Samaritan Hospital Medical Center in West Islip, where he was pronounced dead, police said. The driver of the Dodge, Richard Cornell, 44, of Glen Cove, was not injured.

Cornell had the right-of-way at the intersection as there is no stop sign for vehicles on New Highway at the intersection.
Both vehicles were impounded for safety checks and the investigation is continuing.
