LI Man Fatally Stabs Father During Zoom Meeting: Police
The 32-year-old stabbed his father while his father was on a Zoom video chat Thursday afternoon, police say.
AMITYVILLE, NY — A 32-year-old Amityville man was arrested after Suffolk police said he stabbed his father to death while his father was participating in a Zoom video chat Thursday afternoon.
Dwight Powers was participating on a Zoom video chat with several people when he was fatally stabbed by his son, 32-year-old Thomas Scully-Powers, at 12:04 p.m., police said.
Several members of the chat called 911. Scully-Powers fled and was caught by officers at Ketcham Avenue and Cedar Street at 12:57 p.m., police said. He was charged with second-degree murder.

Scully-Powers was taken to a local hospital for minor injuries sustained while jumping out of a window.
On Friday morning, Scully-Powers told reporters that his father had raped him with a gun. See video below posted by PIX11 reporter Anthony DiLorenzo.
