A special election to choose a new legislator will be held next week. Check out what you need to know before hitting the polls.
SUFFOLK COUNTY, NY — Voters will get the chance to choose the new representative for Suffolk County's 15th legislative district next week. The election has been scheduled for Tuesday, March 10 from 6 a.m. to 9 p.m.

Earlier this year, DuWayne Gregory announced recently he will be stepping down as legislator for the 15th district in order to take over Jackie Gordon's seat on the Town of Babylon board. Gordon announced she will be stepping down to run for Congress.

The candidates on the ballot will be: Jason A. Richberg (D), Christopher G. Connors (R) and Jacqueline Duodu-Burbridge (Working Families).
The district covers Wheatley Heights, Wyandanch, North Amityville, Amityville Village, Copiague, parts of North Lindenhurst, West Babylon and North Babylon, and the portion of Farmingdale which lies in Suffolk County.

The new legislator will take over the remainder of Gregory's term ending December 2020.
