Spider Found Baked Into Cookie Sold at Lindenhurst Aldi, Customer Says

Aldi reportedly gave the customer a $5 coupon for the "inconvenience."

LINDENHURST, NY — First of all, if you scroll down, you will see a photo of a spider baked into a vanilla wafer cookie. You cannot unsee this. And it may ruin you appetite for all cookies forever.

With that warning out of the way, here's the story behind the gross treat:

Lindenhurst resident Eric Sowa says his family bought the box of vanilla wafers at the Aldi supermarket on Park Avenue in Lindenhurst. According to an WABC-TV report, his 9-year-old daughter made the unfortunate decision of requesting a cookie for an after-school snack.

When Sowa's wife contacted Aldi headquarters, they were offered a $5 coupon, the ABC report says.

Aldi called the disgusting discovery an "isolated incident" in a statement sent to ABC.
