Sweeney, Zusmer Receive Pride of Lindenhurst Awards
The awards were announced at the Board of Education Community Forum on June 10.

The Pride of Lindenhurst Award is presented annually in recognition of an outstanding contribution that inspires pride in the Lindenhurst School District.
The award is given in the categories of community and staff. This year’s Pride of Lindenhurst in the community category was given to former Assemblyman Robert Sweeney for his level of commitment and dedication to the Lindenhurst community.
Sweeney, who served as Lindenhurst Village Clerk for 14 years before being elected to the Assembly in 1988, remarked: “It has been an honor for me to serve the community that I’ve had the privilege to live in my whole life. This really means a lot.”
