The 39th annual Teachers Association of Lindenhurst awards ceremony was held on May 18 at Lindenhurst High School. This year’s theme was “We Are More Than One Number.”
Teachers selected one student from each grade level in every school for recognition. “We are honoring students who, in one way or another, have made a difference in the lives of their school community,” said high school teacher John Savastano, who also served as co-chair of the event with Jennifer Kelly.
Upon watching a video depicting messages of individuality, a performance from the Lindenhurst High School musical group Odessey, and a moving speech from guest speaker Michael Garolfola, a Lindenhurst graduate from the class of 1998, the scholarships were presented.
