Teacher Of The Week: Ms. Dina Bellucci

LONG ISLAND, NY — Everybody has a favorite teacher — maybe it's a teacher who went out of their way to make one student's day or a teacher who brightens up a classroom every day.

One teacher who deserves a shout-out is Ms. Dina Bellucci, a Lindenhurst resident who teaches at Nassau BOCES. She was nominated as this week's Teacher of the Week by Debra Doschera.

Here's what she had to say about Ms. Bellucci:

I would like to nominate Dina for teacher of the week even for the year. She is the best teacher by far. She always goes way beyond of what is expected of a teacher. She started a Girl Scout Program in the school, a Safety Patrol, a yoga program, Family Night and many other activities to help the emotional fragile students feel like they fit in. Dina's empathy for her students enables her to get in front of a problems and help the student work it through. Dina is also able to help her coworkers and is constantly fund raising to help make improvements to the program. I cannot say enough about Dina’s abilities to be a role model and caring teacher for her students and coworkers. She deserves the title of Teacher of the Week.
