AMITYVILLE, NY— On behalf of its residents, the Greybarn community recently donated $2,000 to help support the efforts of the Bethel African Methodist Episcopal Church (Bethel A.M.E. Church). Greybarn—a unique luxury rental community built by Long Islanders for Long Islanders—continues to fulfill its overarching mission to foster a sense of community to help improve the lives of its residents as well as those in the surrounding area.

“The Greybarn community prides itself on being a good neighbor and part of meeting that goal is to support local organizations that are making a difference in the area,” said Greybarn’s Community Director Michael Loeffler. “This donation made on behalf of our residents is a token of our appreciation for the work being completed by the Bethel A.M.E. Church as they share our principles of helping others, especially those in need.”

The Bethel A.M.E. Church is a non-profit religious organization that assists individuals and families in need of Social Services through possible referrals to organizations equipped and charged to offer aid. They are also available for concentrated prayer to provide support and strength for people who need it. The organization roots all the way back to 1787. The mission of the Church is to help all people with their spiritual, social, and physical development, regardless of their ethnicity, race, or gender.

“Thanks to Greybarn, a number of senior citizens received meals and families in need will receive holiday diners this season.” said Pastor Hayward of the Bethel AME Church. “As the concern for COVID continues, their generous donation was also useful to supply hand sanitizers, wipes and masks to families who could not have been able to get these otherwise. Finally, the funds were used to purchase metro cards so fathers who live in the city could visit their children during the holidays in a supervised environment at the Church.”
