WATCH: Incredible Time-Lapse Video of Massive Storm Rocking Cruise Ship
Footage was shot by Lindenhurst digital marketing agency Efferent Media, which held its first corporate retreat on the Anthem of the Seas.
Members of the management team of Efferent Media, a Lindenhurst-based digital marketing agency, set up a camera on their balcony cabin on Royal Caribbean’s Anthem of the Seas before the cruise ship departed from Bayonne, N.J. for a seven-day cruise to the Bahamas.
A day later, the ship was caught in strong winter storm with hurricane force winds battering the seas and the ship. The camera was rolling the entire time.
Efferent Media posted a 2-minute time-lapse video of the footage the camera recorded on its Facebook page Thursday evening, less than 24 hours after the ship docked back in New Jersey. The video includes announcements from the captain of ship and it gives a peek at some of the damage the ship sustained during the storm.

“While the first management team retreat was not what we planned, it certainly brought the team together,” Efferent Media wrote on Facebook.
The seasickness began when the 4,180-passenger cruise ship was caught in a severe winter storm off the coast of the Carolinas.

The ship’s captain reportedly told passengers around 11 a.m. Sunday that the crew would attempt to beat out a big storm, but later warned them to take cover around 3 p.m. when conditions deteriorated, NBC New York reported.
Four people suffered minor injuries during the incident, Royal Caribbean said on Monday.
A buoy in the Atlantic about 260 miles south of Cape Hatteras reported wave heights of 30 feet and wind gusts of 74 mph late Sunday, according to the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration.
The 168,666-ton luxury liner sustained some damage but remained “seaworthy,” Royal Caribbean stated.
Guests aboard the cruise will receive a full refund and a future cruise certificate for 50 percent of the fare paid, the company added.
