CandyStore.com recently found the top 3 candies sold during the holidays in each state. Check out which ones made the cut in NY.
NEW YORK - Everyone enjoys a sweet treat for the holidays resulting in an increase in candy sales during this time.
In fact, U.S. consumers are expected to spend almost $2 billion on holiday candy in the eight weeks leading up to Christmas, according to the National Confectionary Association.
The National Retail Federation also found that the average consumer will spend about $110 on candy and food, which is twice what they're projected to spend on decorations.

So if you're wondering which treat to get for your holiday gathering, the website CandyStore.comfound the top Christmas candy sold in each state. So what is the top candy in New York?
Surprisingly enough, the website found that Snickers was the number 1 top holiday candy sold in the state. Less surprising, candy canes came in second place while Reese's Cups Minis came in third.

CandyStore.com came up with the results by surveying over 30,000 customers. They then checked with major candy manufacturers and distributors to be sure the survey corresponded with their seasonal observations.
