Woman Critically Injured in Suffolk County Crash

BREAKING: The 39-year-old woman was ejected from her car Saturday afternoon, police say.

COPIAGUE, NY – A 39-year-old woman was critically injured in a two-car crash in Copiague Saturday afternoon, Suffolk Police said.

According to police, Tongi King, of Copiague, was driving a 2002 Toyota south on Dixon Avenue and attempting to make a left turn onto Bethpage Road when her vehicle was struck by a 2017 Honda traveling north on Dixon Avenue.

King was ejected from her vehicle. She was transported via Suffolk County Police helicopter to Stony Brook University Hospital where she is listed in critical condition, police said.

The driver of the Honda, 33-year-old Eduard Espinal, of Amityville, stayed at the scene and was transported by Copiague Ambulance to Good Samaritan Hospital Medical Center in West Islip for treatment of non-life threatening injuries.

No criminal charges have been filed.
