Woman Fought, Spit At Cop During Arrest: Police

The 26-year-old was arrested after she was caught driving with 26 suspensions on her driver's license, police say

NORTH AMITYVILLE, NY - An Amityville woman was caught driving with a driver's license that had been suspended 26 times in North Amityville on Monday afternoon, according to Suffolk Police.

Jahnay Harley, 26, was driving a 2016 Mercedes-Benz on westbound on Schleigel Avenue and failed to stop at multiple stop signs at about 4:20 p.m., police said.

Officers initiated a traffic stop and discovered her license had been suspended 26 times, police said.

As she was being placed under arrest, Harley became combative and spit at the officers, police said.

She was then charged her with first degree aggravated unlicensed operation of a motor vehicle, resisting arrest, obstruction of governmental administration, and harassment.

Harley will be held overnight at the Fourth Precinct and is scheduled to be arraigned on Tuesday.
