Women Charged With Stealing Walker From 75-Year-Old Veteran: Cops
The women were caught on surveillance video stealing the walker left in front of a local bakery, police say.

LINDENHURST, NY - Two women were arrested for stealing a walker from a 75-year-old veteran at a Lindenhurst bakery on Wednesday morning, according to Suffolk Police.
The walker, which was left on the sidewalk in front of Black Forest Bakery on 155 North Wellwood Avenue, was stolen at about 9:15 a.m.
The walker belonged to a United States Navy veteran who was inside of the bakery at the time of the incident.

Surveillance video from the bakery captured the theft and personnel from the store uploaded the images onto social media, police said.
Monica Newcombe, 22, and Heather Lauro, 42, both of Lindenhurst were identified after a thorough investigation and with the help from concerned citizens, police

Officers then arrested Newcombe at a residence on Bristol Street at 5 p.m. and Lauro turned herself in at the First Precinct in West Babylon, police said.
The walker was returned to the man.
Both women were charged with petty larceny.
They received Desk Appearance Tickets and are scheduled to appear at First District Court in Central Islip at a later date.
