LONG BEACH, NY — A pair of Queens men were charged in connection to robbing people at the ATM at a Long Beach bank, police said. Roberto Melinte, 25, and Antonio Cizec, 42, both of Ridgewood, each face two counts of fourth-degree grand larceny and one count of fourth-degree criminal possession of stolen property. While Long Beach police were investigating a series of grand larcenies by distraction at local bank ATMs they observed Melinte and Cizec, who were wanted for prior distraction ATM crimes, committed another, authorities said. As detectives approached, Cizec pulled out a cell phone and several ATM cards from his pockets and waistband, throwing them to the ground. He fled and was apprehended a short time later, police said. Melinte was also caught after a brief foot chase. Both men were issued appearance tickets and turned over to Nassau County police, for similar crimes. They are due back in Long Beach City Court on June 21 for arraignment.
