The 4th Annual La Noche Argentina Gala

Sunday, November 16, 2014 at the Allegria Hotel in Long Beach, NY

The Argentine Cultural Center, Long Beach, NY (November 5, 2014) — The 4th Annual La Noche Argentina Gala honoring Sergio Neglia, Adrian Pollarols and Pablo Ziegler will be held at the Allegria Hotel, on Sunday, November 16, 2014. The honorees will receive the Orgullo Argentino 2014 award for accomplishments in the arts. The Gala raises funds to support our community development, educational and cultural programs.

The Gala cocktail reception begins at 5:30 p.m., with Argentinean Show, dinner and dancing following at 6:30 p.m. Performances by Steinway pianist Rosa Antonelli, singer Mariela Marco and professional Tango dancers Jorge Torres and Maria Blanco.

Sergio Neglia is the founder and Artistic Director of Neglia Ballet Artists. Neglia began studying ballet at the Teatro Colon in Buenos Aires. At age 13 he won a scholarship to the famed Bolshoi Ballet, and at age 16 was a scholarship student at the School of American Ballet, hand-picked by George Balanchine. He went on to study under, and danced with some of ballets most famous names, including Nureyev, Godunov and Baryshnikov. He has been a finalist and won awards in several International Competitions, including a silver medal at the Prix de Lausanne, considered one of the world’s most prestigious competitions. Sergio has danced as a soloist with Cincinnati Ballet, Miami City Ballet, Santiago Ballet of Chile and many other companies worldwide.

Adrian Pollarols is an Argentinian-born sculptor, silversmith and polo designer. For more than 20 years, he has been producing various objects such as jewelry, knives, pens or belts. A great admirer of Polo, Pollarols now designs the majority of Polo tournaments cups worldwide. The Abierto Palermo Cup, the Villa a Sesta, the Adolfo Cambiaso, the restorations of the U.S. Open Palm Beach or Belgrano cups. In his Buenos Aires workshop he transforms materials, cuts, polishes and shapes, making each object unique. His clients include celebrities, kings and his close friend Pope Francis.

Pablo Ziegler is a composer based in Buenos Aires and New York City. In 2003 he won a Latin Grammy Award for his album Bajo Cero. He has performed with the Buenos Aires Philharmonic and the Wellington Chamber Orchestra. He has composed music for films and is the founder of the New Tango Quartet. Ziegler worked with a wide range of classical, jazz, and Latin musicians including Emmanuel Ax, Gary Burton, Regina Carter, and Branford Marsalis to name just a few.
