LONG BEACH, NY — Long Beach Public Schools opened their doors to students Thursday, bringing barrier island learners off the beach and back into the classroom for a new year.
District officials said the occasion was marked with a sense of excitement, with students getting accustomed to new classrooms and subjects to learn.
Long Beach joined districts across Long Island in reopening this week, including Massapequa, Seaford and Wantagh.
