"Oh, I'm So Happy."

So much horror on TV. But I found joy in a lady by the sea.

This post was contributed by a community member.

I've said many times that we see too much horror in the news, even as there is a motherlode of goodness to be found around us every day.

It's the fire and fury that gets the notice.

You see the "Breaking news" all the time. Sometimes I think they can just run last night's or last week's famine, floods, fires, and bombings, and I'd never know it was old news.

It's the hidden ho-hum doings that I feel need more notice.

I've learned that right here in Long Beach, we've had a jewel of a woman living among us who showed us the way to a better path. She was a good woman who encountered a good man. He expanded her goodness, and on and on it goes.

And will continue.

That's why I'm writing about both of them now.

She, like almost all of you, lived a good life. You did what you felt was right and good, and felt the world would be a better place if we all lived like that. You hoped it would catch on.

A world of reciprocity. A universal imperative.

But you were neither in the news nor even known beyond your circle of friends. So it's a tough road, for sure.

But I salute this beautiful soul and you who live a life that will lead us to a better path.

I urge you to stay the course. You are the hope of humankind. I love all of you for it.

See her story. Hear her joy, as I did when she burst out with, "Oh, I'm so happy."

Be well,
Leebythesea
