Annual Swim Honors Fallen Lifeguards In Long Beach
The one-mile swim takes place at National Boulevard Beach.
LONG BEACH, NY — The 10th Annual Lifeguard Memorial Swim will honor the deceased men and women who patrolled the water of Long Beach.
The one-mile swim is scheduled for Sat., Aug. 14 with National Boulevard Beach as the starting point.
The only requirements to participate are:

- Ages 14 and older
- Ability to swim one mile in 55 minutes or less
Same-day registration starts at 7:45 a.m. with the swim beginning at 9 a.m.
Prices range from $20 for current Long Beach lifeguards to $40 for a race-day fee. It's $35, if received by Thurs., Aug. 12.
