Bellmore Man Charged In Serious Long Beach Crash: Police

LONG BEACH, NY —A Bellmore man faces numerous charges in connection to a serious, multiple-vehicle crash in Long Beach.

Several cars, trees and a light pole were damaged from the collision Friday night in the vicinity of East Park Avenue and Neptune Boulevard, police said.

One pedestrian suffered major physical trauma.

The investigation indicated Robert O'Brien, 26, was behind the wheel and drove recklessly, detectives said. O'Brien fled the scene and was taken into custody on Sunday.

O'Brien faces charges of leaving the scene of an accident with serious physical injury, two counts of assault, two counts of reckless endangerment and criminal mischief.
