Burglar Tried To Cut Through Wall Into Jewelry Store: Police
In a scene from a movie, a would-be burglar tried to cut through a wall of a neighboring business to rob a jewelry store. They failed.

ISLAND PARK, NY — Nassau County police are investigating a failed movie-style caper where a would-be burglar tried to cut through the wall of an adjacent business to steal from a jewelry store.
According to police, officers responded to 4547 Austin Blvd. at 2 p.m. on Nov. 3 after a burglary was reported. Police say that the would-be burglar entered a vacant store through a hole in the roof. Once inside, they tried to enter Saatchi Jewelry by cutting a hole in the wall. However, the plan didn't work and the suspect fled.
Police are asking anyone with information about this incident to call Nassau County Crime Stoppers at 1-800-244-TIPS. All callers will remain anonymous.
