City Accepting Applications For Summer Police Program

The City of Long Beach is now accepting applications for its 2018 Summer Special Program. The program allows residents to act as special police officers during the summer.

All applicants must be at least 20 years old by the date of hire, pass a background check, and successfully pass an oral interview in which the applicant demonstrates maturity and proper moral character. Applications may be obtained from the Traffic Division of the Long Beach Police Department.

At the time of their interview, all applicants must bring a valid New York State driver's license, their Social Security Card, their college transcript (an unofficial copy is acceptable) and a resume. In addition, the standard City of Long Beach Employment Application must be filled out.
