City Council Reduces Parking Fees For Energy-Efficient Cars
Certain cars will now be eligible for a significant cut in the price of their parking passes. Find out if you can get a discount.

On Tuesday night, the Long Beach City Council passed a resolution cutting residential and commuter parking passes by 20 percent for low-emission and energy-efficient cars.
The move was the latest in a line of measures the city has taken to try to go more green over the last few years. The city has installed energy-efficient lighting all over, provides bicycles for rent for residents and guests, purchasing energy-efficient vehicles for the city's fleet and more.
"This resolution continues the city’s goal of being a model for resiliency and sustainability, and is in line with the city’s sustainability budget priority," said City Councilwoman Chumi Diamond. "As a New York State Clean Energy Community, we are proud to continually implement clean-energy actions that reduce energy costs, create jobs, and improve the environment."
