Construction Worker Rescued After 'Complicated Extraction'
The worker was hospitalized with a back injury from the Tuesday morning accident.
LONG BEACH, NY — A construction worker was hurt in an accident on Tuesday morning.
A spokesperson for the city of Long Beach said the worker was stuck between four pilings making it a "complicated extraction."
It happened at a work site near Long Beach Road and the boardwalk.

Initial reports said the man was wedged 10-feet below grade.
The worker was taken to Mount Sinai South Nassau with a back injury. He was conscious and is in stable condition, the city's spokesperson John McNally said.

Long Beach firefighters and EMT led the rescue effort.
Rescue units from Freeport, North Bellmore and Rockville Centre were notified to assist.
