Crane Removes Injured Long Beach Construction Worker 5 Stories Up: FD

The victim was taken to an area hospital in stable condition, the City of Long Beach Fire Department said.

LONG BEACH, NY — A construction worker suffered a broken leg at the Superblock project on Thursday morning.

The victim was at the top level -- the fifth floor-- of the East Broadway complex, the City of Long Beach Fire Department.

An on-site crane for construction assisted in safely removing the injured worker in a basket stretcher.

Long Beach firefighters reached the victim, stabilized him and gave him pain medication, the department said on Facebook.

Rescue teams from the Freeport, Rockville Centre and North Bellmore fire department responded to the scene.
