The City of Long Beach Annual Memorial Day Parade

The City of Long Beach will pay tribute to our veterans with the annual Memorial Day Parade on Monday, May 28, 2012.

This year, Gerald Hunt will lead the parade as Grand Marshal while City Manager Jack Schnirman will act as Master of Ceremonies.

The parade begins at Ohio Avenue and West Beech Street at 9:30am and ends at the reviewing stand on Park Avenue in front of City Hall. The American Legion, Veterans of Foreign Wars, AMVETS, and Jewish War Veterans will be joined by city, county and state officials.

The Memorial Day Parade has been a Long Beach tradition since the 1920’s with over 50 organizations participating. Thousands of spectators will line the city malls and sidewalks to cheer and give testimony to the sacrifices of the United States Armed Forces. Get out your red, white and blue and join in supporting our Veterans Organizations as they honor the men and women who have died for our country and to support those currently serving the nation.
