Fire Damages Popular Long Island Seafood Restaurant

Jordan Lobster Farms has been serving Long Island customers for more than 30 years.

ISLAND PARK, NY — A three-alarm fire damaged a popular Nassau County restaurant on Saturday evening, authorities said.

The fire at Jordan Lobster Farms on Pettit Place was reported at 6:48 p.m., the Nassau County Sheriff's Office said.

The restaurant was serving customers at the time, but there were no injuries, the sheriff's office said.

About 150 firefighters responded to fight the blaze, which took 70 minutes to bring under control, Newsday reported.

Video shared by LI Fire Buff on Facebook showed smoke rising from the restaurant as firefighters worked on the fire.

The restaurant has been operating since 1938, according to its Facebook page, and serving customers on Long Island for more than 30 years, according to its website.

It also includes a seafood market, a clam bar and a "backyard bar," the website said.
