Foul-Language Biden Flag Sparks Ire In Long Beach
Long Beach police said a flag on East Broadway has drawn complaints. The flag's display is covered under the First Amendment.

LONG BEACH, NY — A flag flown from the balcony of an apartment on East Broadway has some residents riled up, but the city says there's nothing it can do about them.
A resident of the apartment complex on East Broadway is flying a flag with profanity under a pro-Donald Trump flag. The Long Beach Police Department said it has received multiple calls about the Biden flag, which some residents have found offensive. You can see a photo of the flag below.
"While it is unfortunate that the person flying these flags has chosen to display a flag that utilizes profane language, the use of this language is considered constitutionally protected, especially when its is utilized as part of a political statement," the police department said in a statement.

The flag's statement is considered protected speech under the First Amendment and the city can't force the flag's removal because it is flown by a private citizen.
Police said they reached out to the owner of the flag and are trying to negotiate its removal by appealing to the resident's "sense of community."
