Frigid Temperatures Causes Water Main Break
Some residents experienced discolored water while repairs were made.
LONG BEACH, NY — A casualty of the brutal weather as a water main broke in this Tuesday's sub-freezing temperatures. Sometime between 6 a.m. and 7 a.m., a 16-inch water main ruptured on East Broadway and Long Beach Boulevard, the city of Long Beach said on its Facebook page.
While all residents maintained water, some experienced discoloration during and shortly after the repairs, the city said.
Those impacted were located in a large area from Edwards Boulevard to Maple Boulevard, south of Park Avenue, the city wrote.
