Kaminsky Reveals New Legislation to Help DAs Target Public Corruption Cases: Report

The local assemblyman revealed the proposed bill at a press conference.

LONG BEACH, NY - Local Assemblyman Todd Kaminsky recently revealed a legislation that would help district attorneys target public corruption cases at a recent press conference in Long Beach, according to a report in Newsday.

The new law would create an "abuse of public trust" charge meant only for public officials in addition creating stronger bribery statutes and "criminalize lying to a district attorney investigator," according to Newsday.

“District attorneys throughout the state are clamoring for the tools they need to make these cases because we know corruption exists at every level and needs to be rooted out,” Kaminsky said according to Newsday.
