Long Island Man Arrested After Storming Shakespeare Stage
The man and a friend rushed the stage during the climax of the controversial production of "Julius Caesar" Sunday night.

A Long Island man was arrested Sunday night after he and another man stormed the stage at the final performance of "Julius Caesar" in Central Park.
Salvatore Cipolla, 28, of Long Beach Road in Oceanside, and Jovanni Vale, 26, of East 92nd Street in Brooklyn, both ran onto the stage during the performance of the play in Central Park's Delacorte Theater. Both were arrested by the NYPD and charged with criminal trespassing. Vale was also charged with disorderly conduct.
The production of "Julius Caesar" has come under fire this year, as the production company decided to make Caesar, who is murdered at the end of the play, look like Donald Trump. However, it is not uncommon for productions to style Caesar after whichever politician is in power at the time.

The arrests Sunday were the second time the show was interrupted. On Friday, a woman rushed onto stage as Caesar was being assassinated and screamed, "“Stop the normalization of political violence against the right," according to the New York Times.
