Lido Boulevard Sinkhole Repairs On Track For Weekend Completion

The sinkhole was first reported on May 31.

LIDO BEACH, NY — Repairs on the Lido Boulevard sinkhole, which caused disruptions for two weeks, are near completion, Newsday reports.

A spokesperson for County Executive Bruce Blakeman said work is on schedule to be finished by the weekend.

The 20-foot crater, first spotted on May 31, led to the evacuation of a firehouse in Lido Beach, Newsday said.

No one was injured and sewer service wasn't impacted, but it has caused plenty of headaches for drivers navigating the area.
