Lifeguards, Surfers Rescue Swimmers In Long Beach
The swimmers were dangerously close to rocks, and were pulled from the water by lifeguards and local surfers.
On Friday morning, multiple swimmers were rescued from the water off Long Beach.
According to the Long Beach Fire Department, a call came in at 11:14 a.m. for multiple swimmers in distress at Riverside Boulevard and Ocean Beach Park. Long Beach lifeguards responded and found multiple swimmers dangerously close to the rocks.
Lifeguards deployed a rescue board and multiple rescue swimmers jumped into the water. Four people were pulled from the water, along with the assistance of local surfers, and were taken to a hospital in stable condition, but with cuts, bruises and difficulty breathing.
