Long Beach Among Best Beaches in America: Report
Do you think Long Beach ranks among the best beaches in the country?
If you're looking to hit one of the best beaches in America this summer, look no further than Long Beach - at least according to USA Today. The popular local beach recently made its list of the top 10 beaches in the country.
"With the Atlantic Ocean on one side and the Reynolds Channel on the other, it is a beautifully situated seaside community that boasts a 3.5 mile long beach considered one of the cleanest in the USA," the article reads.
Long Beach is the only beach in New York to make the list. Florida is the only state to make the list twice with both Amelia Island and St. Petersburg/Clearwater making the list.
Other beaches that made the list include:
- Indiana Dunes State Park in Chesterton, Indiana
- Lincoln City Beach in Lincoln City, Oregon
- Brigantine Beach, New Jersey
- Poipu Beach in Kauai, Hawaii
- Hermosa Beach, California
- Hilton Head Island, South Carolina
- Duck Beach in Duck, North Carolina
"Memorial Day kicks off the summer season in town, and the city is home to all sorts of adventure opportunities including flying on a recreational trapeze school, experiencing the state-of-the-art surf center, playing a few rounds of mini golf courses or just wandering down the two-plus-mile boardwalk filled with all sorts of eating options," the article reads.
Another Long Island beach, Coopers Beach in Southampton, made Dr. Beach's famous list of the top 10 beaches in America.
