"Thanksgiving is a time to reflect on everything we have to be grateful for, and as a community there is no one more deserving of our gratitude than our local police officers in Long Beach," Berlin said. "In light of the recent threats made against Jewish communities both here in New York and across the country, the Long Beach Police Department has ramped up their efforts to keep us safe."
The children decorated the cookies and penned heartfelt messages on the outside of the boxes.
