Long Beach Lumber Yard Damaged By Fire

Staffers evacuated safely, but two firefighters suffered minor injuries.

LONG BEACH, NY — A fire on Saturday morning at a lumber yard in Long Beach took 90 minutes for first responders to extinguish, Newsday reported.

As many as 150 firefighters battled the blaze at Whitbread Lumber on Magnolia Boulevard.

Workers evacuated safely, but two firefighters suffered minor injuries, Newsday said.

The cause is being investigated.
