Long Beach Police to Increase Patrols For Holiday Weekend
Last year, there were 10 DWI arrests in Long Beach during the holiday weekend.

Long Beach Police announced that they will conducting additional DWI enforcement this holiday weekend.
The extra patrols will begin on Friday and continue on through Monday night.
“The City's police department continues to crack down on drunk driving,” City Councilman Scott J. Mandel said. “The LBPD works hard every day to ensure that our streets are safe for motorists, bicyclists, and pedestrians.

Last year, during this holiday weekend, Long Beach Police reported 10 DWI arrests.
"Numerous extra patrols will be out so if you drink and drive in Long Beach you will probably spend the holiday in jail," a message on the department's Facebook page reads.

In addition, residents are reminded that starting on Saturday, Beach Park will be open with lifeguards on duty from 9 a.m. to 7 p.m. every weekend including Monday, July 4.
All beachgoers age 13 and over must have a valid beach pass during open operational hours.
Alcohol, smoking and glass bottles are prohibited on the beach at all times.
