Long Beach School Election Results Are In
Find out if the budget passed and who won seats on the Board of Education.
The results are in for the Long Beach School District, and the budget passed.
It was supported by the community, 1,945 yes votes to 1,047 no.
Incumbent Board of Education trustee Stewart Minsky was ousted from his seat. He was defeated by challengers Sam Pinto and Tina Posterli, who received 1,767 and 1,492 votes, respectively. Minsky received 811 votes. Lori Montgomery and Ronald Montgomery received 1,227 votes and 376 votes, respectively.

The community also approved two ballot initiatives. The first, to spend money from the district's capital reserve fund, passed 2,075 to 788. The second, to establish a new capital reserve fund, received 1,919 yes to 881 no.
In addition, the Long Beach Public Library's budget also passed, 2,188 to 779.
