Long Beach Seeking to Fill Vacant Council Seat

Residents can apply via email to fill the seat vacated by Judge Eileen Goggin.

The Long Beach City Council is starting the search to fill the seat vacated by Eileen J. Goggin.

Goggin won a seat as a judge for the Nassau County District Court in November. Because of that, she had to step down from her seat on the City Council. Now, the all-Democrat body is looking to fill her vacancy.

Starting Thursday, Jan. 5, Long Beach residents can submit resumes and cover letters to lbcitycouncil2017@longbeachny.gov if they are interested in filling the seat. The four remaining members of the city council will be looking over the applications and choosing someone to fill the vacancy.
