Long Beach Students Explore College Options

Long Beach High School hosts college fair for students looking to continue their education.

Long Beach High School students recently had the opportunity to explore more than 60 colleges and universities without leaving the doors of their building, thanks to a College Fair organized by the guidance department.

Representatives from schools across the country shared information about their programs, admissions requirements, campus life and other critical details. Students visited booths and asked questions pertaining to their own interests.

On Sept. 30 at 7 p.m., the High School will hold a Grade 12 Parent Night where guidance counselors and administrators will review all aspects of the application timeline to ensure that it is a smooth and comfortable process for students and their families.

Among the topics on the evening’s agenda are transcripts, standardized tests, the general application, interviews, essays, financial aid and deadlines.

Delivering an educational program that supports college- and career-readiness is one of the district’s major priorities. The guidance department and other members of the high school staff will continue to work closely with seniors and their parents throughout the school year to see them through the many steps and decisions that are involved in finding the right college fit.
