LONG BEACH, NY — A a meeting scheduled for tonight, the Long Beach City Council is set to vote on a proposition to bond $2.7 million to cover new separation payments.

These payments are different from the questionable payments made in previous years, when the city overpaid more than $500,000 in separation payments. These are payments for the 2020-21 fiscal year, the city said.

The city is bonding the $2.7 million to make payments to 38 former employees, ranging from $1,373 to $215,000.
