Long Island Marathon 2016 Road Closures

UNIONDALE, NY - With the Long Island Marathon kicking off this weekend, Nassau County Police recently announced the road closures for the race weekend.

On Saturday, April 30 the 1 Mile race will take place starting at 8 a.m. followed by the 5k race beginning at 8:30 a.m.

On Sunday, May 1 the Marathon, Half Marathon and 10K races will take place together on Charles Lindbergh Boulevard behind the famed Nassau Coliseum and finish together inside Eisenhower Park all starting at 8 a.m.

Both races will start on Charles Lindbergh Blvd and finish on the 1998 Goodwill Games world-record-setting track inside the Mitchel Athletic Complex.

The road closures for Saturday include:

• Charles Lindbergh Boulevard (Merrick Avenue to Earle Ovington Boulevard) from 8 a.m. to 10 a.m.
• Rest of Charles Lindbergh Boulevard from 7:30 a.m. to 10 a.m.
• Earle Ovington Boulevard (entire length) from 8 a.m. to 10 a.m.
• Quentin Roosevelt Boulevard (South of Commercial Avenue) from 7:30 a.m. to 10 a.m.
• Meadowbrook Parkway exits and entrances to and from Charles Lindbergh Boulevard (Nassau Coliseum, Nassau Community College)
• Eisenhower Park exits from 7:45 a.m. until 10 a.m.

The road closures for Sunday include:

• Charles Lindbergh Boulevard (Merrick Avenue to Earle Ovington Boulevard) from 5 a.m. to 10 a.m.
• Rest of Charles Lindbergh Boulevard from 7:15 a.m. to 10 a.m.
• Merrick Avenue (North of Hempstead Turnpike) from 7:30 a.m. to 10 a.m.
• Old Country Road (Post Avenue to School Street) from 7:40 a.m. to 10 a.m.
• School Street (Old Country Road to Railroad Avenue) from 7:40 a.m. to 10 a.m.
• Salisbury Park Drive from 7:50 a.m. to 10:30 a.m.
• Railroad Avenue from 7:50 a.m. to 10 a.m.
• Post Avenue (Railroad Ave. to Jericho Turnpike) from 7:50 a.m. to 10:30 a.m.
• Jericho Turnpike (eastbound side from Post Avenue to Brush Hollow Road) from 7:50 a.m. to 11 a.m.
• Brush Hollow Road (north of Wantagh Parkway) from 7:50 a.m. to 11:30 a.m.
• Carman Avenue (Old Country Rd. to Nottingham Road) from 7:50 a.m. to 2 p.m.
• Wantagh Parkway from 7:50 a.m. to 3 p.m.
• Northern State Parkway exits to Post Avenue and Wantagh Parkway
• All exits and entrances to and from Wantagh Parkway
• Meadowbrook Parkway exits and entrances to and from Charles Lindbergh Blvd. (Nassau Coliseum, Nassau Community College) and Eisenhower Park exits from 5 a.m. until 10 a.m.
• Eisenhower Park's Park Boulevard will not allow through traffic between 7:15 a.m. and 10 a.m.
• The Hempstead Turnpike entrance to the park will be open throughout the day for Golf and Carltun guests, with a turnaround at the golf course until 10 a.m.
