Each fall Long Island eateries take part in Restaurant Week, a time when patrons are offered a $24.95 price fixe menu at a smattering of local establishments.
Now, by the demand of restaurant chefs, Long Islander will be able to enjoy restaurant week this spring as the inaugural promotions kick off today.
From April 3 to April 10, restaurants throughout Long Island will offer a choice of three appetizers, three main courses and three desserts at the set price.

“Everyone loves a deal,” said Steve Haweeli, president of WordHamption Public Relations, which organizes the event. “With Restaurant Week, people go out two or three times and it doesn’t hurt the pocketbook as much as it wood regularly.”
Haweeli told Patch that Restaurant Week is instrumental to community commerce because it allows people to try a new, local place they've been meaning to try, or to head out on the town to an eatery that is usually reserved for a special occasion.

In Long Beach, the Allegria Hotel, Caffe Laguna and Minnesota’s are participating in this program.
"We started on Friday and it's been great so far," said Tom Corning, owner of Caffe Laguna and Minnesota's. "We've seen a lot of new faces with people coming in from all over. It gives them an opportunity to try out our restaurants and hopefully we gain new customers."
