Man Airlifted To Hospital After Boating Accident: Police

POINT LOOKOUT, NY — Police were called to the scene of a serious water emergency on Sunday afternoon.

It happened in the vicinity of Meadow Island to the northeast of Point Lookout.

The male victim, 53, was injured when he struck the rear propeller of a boat, police said.

Marine Bureau officers and the U.S. Coast Guard provided aid to the victim, who was airlifted by Nassau County helicopter to a local hospital.

The victim is listed in stable condition, according to police.
