Man Bought $12,000 Worth of Stop and Shop Gift Cards Using Fake Credit Cards: Police

The man purchased the gift cards at several Stop and Shop stores in Nassau County, police say.

A Queens man was arrested on Wednesday for using fake credit cards to buy over $12,000 worth of gift cards from several Nassau County Stop and Shop stores according to Nassau Police.

Between Oct. 16 and Feb. 11, Jaquell McNeal, 22, bought the gift cards from Stop and Shops located in Oceanside, Merrick and New Hyde Park using fake credit cards, causing a loss of over $12,000 to the grocery store chain, police said.

He was found and placed under arrest on at about 2:15 p.m. on June 29 at Queens Criminal Court.

McNeal is charged with third degree grand larceny and will be arraigned on Thursday, police said.
